Develop

The development phase is when you begin to develop your idea into your project. At this point you have narrowed your many ideas into one that you want to explore deeper. This is where the deeper research begins. You will begin to make decisions about media and techniques that you will use. You can continue to explore new techniques and might make your choices with your project idea in mind.

At this stage you are turing your ideas into images. Collecting reference images, making study sketches, and even drawing several thumbnail images. You are planning your composition, selecting subject matter, and trying various ways to show arrange your ideas visually. Artwork will likely start as a concept sketch. Actually several concept sketches will all you to create multiple solutions to your design. Make distinctly different thumbnail sketches to explore different points of view. If you can produce at least 5 thumbnails you might develop 1 or 2 designs that might work great. You might even create some amazing designs if you can create 10-15 thumbnail drawings.
