Masterpiece Mashup with Photoshop:

This is an opportunity for you to have some fun with Photoshop and utilize the new skills you have learned. You will explore famous masterpiece paintings, or sculptures and combine them to create a new image and meaning.

The Objectives:

Create a Photoshop document that combines famous masterpiece artworks from different eras and blend them into a new composition.  Your goal is to practice making selections and transforming images into the new composition. Try and create an image that appears as though the images are part of one image. This project will provide you with experience with manipulating images, resizing, making selections, layer masks, layer opacity, filters, transform options, image adjustments and the opportunity to explore more tools in Photoshop CS6.

After completing this project you will:
  • Create an image using Photoshop that combines parts and pieces of several different artists work.
  • Learn to find artwork on the public domain.
  • Learn to utilize the tools and techniques you have learned about so far in

Project Requirements:

Technical Skills (Current Objective):
-Create an 8x10" or 8x12" Photoshop file that is at least 150ppi (300ppi if you would like a decent print)
-Label each layer with an descriptive word
-incorporate at least 5 images into one composition
-utilize the skills you have learned so far to create a single unified image:
        
Use Smart Object LayersApply Smart Filters to Layers
    -Use a Mask to apply a filter to a portion of a layer
Apply adjustment layers:
    -Apply an adjustment to multiple layers
    -Apply an adjustment to a single layer
   
 -Use a layer mask to apply your adjustment to a part of a layer

Be able to explain where you used the following tools:
    -Spot Healing Brush Tool
    -Clone Stamp Tool
   -Content Aware Move Tool 

Design Concepts and Techniques (Elements and Principles of Design):
-mash the images so it appears as if they belong in the same image- don’t simply paste images into one image, work to mesh them together to appear as one image.
-Utilize the elements and principles of design into your project to create a balanced composition, with attention to emphasis, contrast, and movement.
