Adobe Exercise Files

In order to learn to use the Pen Tool I have several exercises available for you to use to practice.  There are 4 exercise files that you can find in the Resources Folder on the ghsxserve.  Open each of these file and complete them.  Read the directions on each file to learn how to use different tools.  The Pen Tool takes some practice and these exercise files will help you learn how it works.

Adobe Illustrator: Exercise 1

This exercise will allow you to slow down and understand how to create and modify closed path objects by using the shape tool.  You will also begin to create objects using the pen tool. Remember to just make single clicks when using the pen tool. You can find the AI Exercise files on the ghsmacserver. Drag the AI Exercise folder to your desktop. This folder contains four exercise files you will need for the next few exercises. Follow the instructions in the document for more information.


This exercise is worth 10 Points. One point for successfully creating each object and changing the default fill and stroke colors. One point for using the proper file name.

Deliverables:
Submit this assignment as an .ai file to Google Classroom.

Example File Name:   Smith.exercise1.ai



Adobe Illustrator: Exercise 2

This exercise will allow you to learn to create curved lines with the Pen Tool. Remember to just make single clicks when using the pen tool. Click and hold to create a curved line. You can find the AI Exercise files on the ghsmacserver. Drag the AI Exercise folder to your desktop. This folder contains four exercise files you will need for the next few exercises. Follow the instructions in the document for more information.


This exercise is worth 10 Points. One point for successfully creating each object and changing the default fill and stroke colors. One point for using the proper file name.

Adobe Illustrator: Exercise  3

Follow this worksheet to learn how to manipulate anchor points and handles using the pen tools and the modifier keys. Follow the directions embedded within the document.
 Remember to just make single clicks when using the pen tool. Click and hold to create a curved line. You can find the AI Exercise files on the ghsmacserver in the Resources Folder. Drag the AI Exercise folder to your desktop. This folder contains four exercise files you will need for the next two exercises.


This exercise is worth 10 Points. Two points for successfully creating each object and changing the default fill and stroke colors. One point for using the proper file name.

Submit this assignment as an .ai file to Google Classroom.

Adobe Illustrator: Exercise 4

This exercise will allow you to practice tracing a line. We will do this one together as a class. It will be the greatest pen tool race you have ever done!   You can find the AI Exercise files on the ghsxserver in the Resources Folder. Drag the AI Exercise folder to your desktop. This folder contains four exercise files you will need. Follow the instructions in the document for more information.


This exercise is worth 10 Points. Fourteen points for successfully creating a single continuous path which closely resembles the one in the embedded template. One point for using the proper file name.

Submit this assignment as an .ai file to Google Classroom.
