Graphic Design 2: Concert Poster

This project will allow you to create an concert event poster that could be collected by people that were at the concert or fans of the band. The Sasquatch Music Festival is an annual event held at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington and this is the 15th year of the event. The festival features multiple bands that perform on different stages during the three day event. There are several artists that create posters for the event and for each act that will perform. The posters are created by graphic artists that incorporate image and type to create a piece that is valuable to concert attendees and fans.
Before you begin:
Brainstorm and research first. Look at the resources below for ideas on what you can create. Develop your own project based on some techniques you have learned. Find something that interests you and this project will be much more exciting for you. You can select a band that will play at Sasquatch this year or you can create a poster for any band that you would like to see.

Project Specifications and Requirements:
-Create a concert poster featuring a band of your choice.
-Include text that shows the band name, date, time, and location of the concert. (Example: Band Name, Sasquatch Music Festival, Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-30, 2016, Gorge, Washington) -Include an image to accompany the text. -If you choose to print this project, you must select one of the following sizes: 8x10, 8x12, 11x14, or 12x18 Resolution is 300dpi (Image->Image Size: Resolution) Avoid using copyrighted or trademarked images. Do not use logos. Create your own images, or if you must use someone else’s work, make sure you have use permissions to use the work through creative commons, fair use, or public domain. All images and text must be school appropriate to receive credit or to print the project. |
